SWORD OF DISCERNMENT. Never give a sword to a man who can’t dance
A Movement Medicine workshop designed for men who strive to walk their talk in all areas of life and make a difference in the world. It is for men who are called to Power Beside in a circle of brothers and long to deactivate Reactive Roles and live with responsibility; or Response Ability - the ability to respond. Utilising the core practices of Movement Medicine, we will explore the concepts of Vicious Circles and Medicine Circles and especially the ways in which they show up in our experience as men in a male body. Through process and ceremony we will go on a hero’s journey to retrieve the mythical SWORD OF DISCERNMENT at the centre of our Medicine Circle in the territory of the Inner Shaman. We will invoke 3 Golden Keys to Freedom and Choice: Resourcing, Releasing and Remembering.

Through Movement and Heart Sharing, we will explore the roles which we all find ourselves identifying with and reacting from, personally and collectively, for reasons, seasons or lifetimes. We will explore ways of becoming more aware of what happens to us on every level of our being and how we behave from that place when we find ourselves, consciously or unconsciously identified with these roles. With that deepening awareness we will then invite an alliance of archetypes to serve as medicinal soul resourcing to expand our palette of embodied possibilities and our capacity to have more life affirming choices available to us in any given moment.
Resource: with Movement Medicine to cultivate self-care, discipline, integrity, kindness and compassion.
Release: physical, psycho-emotional, energetic and spiritual imprints that disempower and drain our lifeforce.
Remember: there is an abundance of love, protection, guidance, nourishment and inspiration available to everyone at all times. When we cultivate enough humility - without humiliation - to ask and receive, life has surprising ways of guiding us.
Vicious Circle Roles: Victim, Persecutor, Rescuer, Hungry Ghost and Charlatan.
Medicine Circle Archetypes: Dancing Warrior, Dancing Fool, Wise Elder, Wounded Healer - Big Mama and Big Papa and Inner Shaman.
When we bring the Medicine of Resource, Release and Remember along with the Medicine Circle Archetypes to the suffering of the Vicious Circle Roles - poison becomes medicine and disempowering roles are alchemised into potentially powerful allies and the potent medicine of wholeness.
The Sword of Discernment is a powerful metaphor for spiritual and intellectual clarity, representing the ability to cut through illusion, ignorance, and confusion to see truth, distinguish good from evil, and understand deeper meanings, appearing in various contexts from Buddhist wisdom - like Manjushri's sword - and Yoga - Viveka, to Christian scripture - Hebrews 4:12, alchemy and Celtic myth - Nuada's Sword. It signifies wisdom to separate what is real from what isn't, guiding one towards integrity and liberation
