Apprenticeship for Men
This Apprenticeship is specifically for men. It follows the curriculum for all Movement Medicine Apprenticeships and adapts it to serve men in particular. Through Movement Medicine, ritual and ceremony we explore masculine roles, challenges and evolutionary opportunities.
Everything is on the table to be explored including power, purpose, sexuality, sexual energy, addiction, artistic expression; physical, emotional, mental and spiritual health and wellbeing; commitment, discipline, belonging, community and collaboration; soul-centricity, integrity, responsibility and reciprocity; rites of passage and initiation; ritual and ceremony; relationships with other humans - men, women, children, elders, family, ancestors - and other than human - and all of life, and death.
A multitude of topics and themes are in the mix, that are both universally human and uniquely experienced through the filter of being a man in a male body.

What is Movement Medicine Apprenticeship?
Are you ready to go deeper and put the embodied soul in the driving seat of your life? Would you like to take that journey with similarly committed people and with great guidance? Are you someone who wants to grow their personal power, take responsibility for your life and share your medicine with the world?
The program invites participants to look at their lives as a creative project and to design their own intention for the journey. These have ranged from completing writing a book to making peace with their family. The intensity of the program allows for a total immersion in the practice, guided by your own chosen intention. You can expect to be well met both by your Apprenticeship Guides and by your fellow Apprentices and you will be joining a circle of Movement Medicine Apprentices from around the world who are committed to standing up, growing up and playing their role in life to the best of their ability.
The Movement Medicine Apprenticeship Program is both for those who wish to train with Ya'Acov and Susannah to teach Movement Medicine, and for those who wish to take a deep and sustained dive into applying Movement Medicine concepts and practice to their lives. It is an intense and demanding programme that provides a curated blend of support and challenges, guided by skilled Movement Medicine Professionals who have taken the full training path with Ya'Acov and Susannah.
This programme is for men who want to:

About the teachers
We - Keef and Marold - have been involved with The School of Movement Medicine since its inception. We were long term apprentices of the founders - Susannah and Ya’Acov Darling Khan and were cohorts of the first Movement Medicine Apprenticeship and Professional Training- 2009-2011 - and have since gone on to complete all of the Continued Professional Development modules. We are therefore fully qualified to lead all of the advanced practices, processes and pathways towards Professional Training - with the founders - including Phoenix, Initiation and Apprenticeship.
We are also highly experienced in various other lineages of shamanic practice and you can read more about that in our personal bios and elsewhere on this site. We weave these other approaches alongside our Movement Medicine offerings and create a unique palette of possibilities for you and all the men we work with.

Participation in The Summer Long Dance with The School of Movement Medicine. This is an integral part of your Apprenticeship. You must have done one, either within 18 months of starting your Apprenticeship or within 18 months of your last module.

The sliding scale is designed to support people with different financial circumstances and income levels in accessing the Apprenticeship Program. Its purpose is to make this work more accessible to a wider audience. Your choice of payment option depends on your personal integrity and honesty. If you can afford a higher payment option, you enable others to access lower payment options.

We recognize that we live in challenging yet abundant and transformative times. Our intention is to make this work available to as many people as possible, regardless of their background. We understand that for some, this is a significant financial commitment, while for others it is not. With this in mind, we have designed the pricing structure to trust each participant’s personal choice and conscience in selecting an option that reflects their financial situation.

This community offers ongoing opportunities for growth, collaboration, and shared learning as you integrate Movement.

Pathway leading to MM Apprenticeship and Professional Training
5 STAGES OF MOVEMENT MEDICINE 4 MEN
Prerequisites

Foundational Prerequisites- 175 Hours of conscious dance practice
For those that don’t yet have basic foundational prerequisites, you are welcome to practice with any of the fully qualified teachers around the world.
To study with MM4M we invite you to attend any of Keef and Marold’s classes and workshops and/or engage with our
Re-source - 1:1 Mentoring Programme For Men
GENERAL PREREQUISITES OF 175 HOURS OF CONSCIOUS DANCE PRACTICE
A minimum of 100 hours must be Movement Medicine practice, of which at least 75 hours must be with a qualified Movement Medicine Teacher
A maximum of 75 hours can include related conscious dance practice such as 5Rhythms, Open Floor, Laban/ Bartenieff Movement System, Dance Movement Therapy, Soul Motion, Embodied Coaching, Somatics and other embodied practices.
Online - of your 175 hours of practice: up to 60 hours can be Movement Medicine Study Hub online learning and practice. Up to 20 hours can be open online classes, up to 40 hours can be online closed small ongoing groups or workshop format work with qualified Movement Medicine Teachers.
The Summer Long Dance.
This annual 6-day event, hosted by Susannah and Ya’Acov and The School of Movement Medicine is open to the entire Movement Medicine community. It includes a 72-hour dance ceremony. This is an integral part of your Apprenticeship. You must have done one, either within 18 months of starting your Apprenticeship or within 18 months of your last module. Not included in the price.
PHOENIX

MM4MEN is not currently leading in person PHOENIX, but you can
